After an opening weekend win against Tumble the Quins fell short of their high standards with a disappointing result against an effective New Dock Stars team. The home team ran in two unanswered first half tries and seemed to be in control and poised to exert their forward pressure in the second half. Both tries were well worked with the forwards running at the heart of the visitors defence and quick passing creating space for Ben Jones on the wing.
In the second half the Quins went off the boil and conceded an early try to the impressive New Dock Star player Joe Roberts. This try was the spur to enthuse the New Dock Stars and, unfortunately, had the opposite effect on the young Quins .New Dock found their rhythm and scored another two converted tries.
